WeatherMAX® made from yarn-dyed Satura maxTM fibers. This yarn is a technical polymer featuring exceptional UV-resistant properties for long-lasting colorfastness and strength. The commonly used term „waterproof“ is to be understood as rain protection or rain-repellent.
hydroMAX Finish increases the water column and thereby enables outstanding results in water and mold resistance without, however, reducing the breathability of the fiber.
WeatherMAX® is characterized by very high tear resistance and kink resistance.

Important criteria when buying a sandbox sun protection
Anyone who wants to buy a shade sail for the sandbox should pay attention to two essential factors:
- Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF): A good sail should block at least 90 % of UV rays.
- Material texture: A distinction is made between waterproof fabrics (perfect as rain protection) and air-permeable HDPE fabric. The latter prevents heat buildup under the sail, which ensures a pleasant climate, especially during long periods of playing in the sandbox.
Light locking mechanism
The principle is extremely simple: the sun sail made of durable fabric is tensioned between poles made of aluminum or stainless steel. Handles on the sides make it easy to manually adjust the sun sail higher or lower. This ensures, on the one hand, that the shade always covers the sandbox area and, on the other hand, allows for a quick switch between the functions of sun protection and sandbox cover. If the sun sail for the sandbox is to serve as rain protection, it is recommended to tension the fabric with a slight downward slope, thereby diverting the rainwater to the most suitable location.

Can a sun sail stay outside in winter?
A classic, tightly tensioned sail should be taken down over the winter to protect it from snow load. Since our masts, wall mounts, or roller systems are made of high-quality stainless steel or anodized aluminum, the system structure can remain in the garden maintenance-free all year round. Attaching and detaching the sail in the spring takes only a few minutes. With our rollable sun sail systems, the sail is simply rolled up and, if necessary, protected against all external influences with a winter protection cover!
Does a shade sail also offer protection from the curious glances of the neighbors?
A custom-made sail is an excellent privacy screen. By tensioning it at an angle or using height adjustments on the masts, you can position the fabric precisely to block views from higher windows or neighboring properties. This allows you to enjoy absolute privacy in your garden without feeling locked in behind a wall.
Do I need a foundation for the sail masts in the lawn?
Yes, point foundations (approx. 80 cm deep, frost-proof) are essential for the necessary stability against wind loads. Any disturbance to your landscaping will be very brief, as the foundations end at least 12 cm below the finished surface level and the top layer is replaced over them. As a result, the intervention remains invisible!
How do I clean my garden sun sail when it is soiled by trees?
Thanks to a special surface coating, our fabrics are highly dirt-repellent. Light dirt from pollen or dust can usually be easily rinsed off with clear water and a soft brush. For more stubborn dirt from birds or trees, there are special cleaning concentrates (see separate cleaning instructions) that do not attack the impregnation.
Can I change the height of the shade in the garden?
Absolutely. We optionally install sliding tracks on the masts. This allows you to slide the sail down incrementally. This is especially perfect in the evening hours when the sun is low, or if you want privacy from the neighbor.
